2010-11 State Officers conclude year of service to Kansas FFA

The 2010-11 Kansas FFA State Officer team completed their year of service today with the conclusion of the 83rd Kansas FFA Convention on the Kansas State University campus. The team presented workshops and speeches challenging high school students to serve their community and “Infinite Potential” in the spirit of this year’s convention theme.

Outgoing officers include Andrew Strasburg, Fredonia FFA; Vice President Kassie Curran, Girard FFA; Secretary Anthony Meals, Clay Center FFA, Treasurer Johanna Ryckert, Paola FFA, Reporter Sara Schifferdecker, Girard FFA; and Sentinel Jeff Cather, Chaparral FFA.

After being elected in June 2010, the team spent the past year traveling across the state sharing their passion for leadership, service and agriculture.

All six are students at Kansas State University. This fall, Strasburg will be a junior, double majoring in agriculture communications and journalism and international business, Curran will be a junior in food science and industry, Meals will be a junior with Schifferdecker and Ryckert, sophomores, in agricultural education, and Cather will be a sophomore in agricultural economics.

Kansas FFA members appreciate the dedication of the 2010-2011 officer team to the FFA organization and the agriculture industry.
