2011-2012 Kansas FFA State Officer team finish their year of service

The 2011-12 Kansas FFA State Officer team completed their year of service today with the conclusion of the 84th Kansas FFA Convention on the Kansas State University campus. The team presented workshops and speeches challenging high school students to serve their community and “I Believe” in the spirit of this year’s convention theme.

Outgoing officers include President Jordan Pieschl, Ell-Saline FFA; Vice President Alexis Wingerson, Smith Center FFA; Secretary Kurt Lockwood, Caney FFA, Treasurer Justine Dlabal, Wilson FFA, Reporter Nathan Laudan, Paola FFA; and Sentinel Cole Smith, Plainville FFA.

After being elected in June 2011, the team spent the past year traveling across the state sharing their passion for leadership, service and agriculture.

All six are students at Kansas State University. This fall, Pieschl will be a sophomore, dual majoring in animal science and industry and agriculture communications and journalism, Wingerson will be a junior in horticulture, Dlabal will be a sophomore in elementary education, Lockwood will be a sophomore in agricultural education, Laudan will be a sophomore dual majoring in agricultural communications and journalism and food science and industry, and Smith will be a sophomore in animal science and industry.
